A Friday Special!

We had some time available with the mini excavator and we have lots of infill to be done. John C and Jo offered to lead the charge. Here is Jo's report and pictures:-

Hi Bill,
John and I made an early 8.30 start in a steady drizzle, and finished the day at 16.30 in glorious sunshine.
One volunteer managed to come and help with the raking – Vic. Thank you, Vic!

The idea was to use the digger to a maximum, seeing that it was still on hire.

We removed the spoil heap at the south end of platform 2, and spread it behind the vertical slabs. This got us +/- to the middle of that section, after which we filled the remaining gap using excess spoil that was already there.
We then completed the top layer of platform 2, and a quick dump to cover the remaining bricks at the other end, using spoil scraped off the near Caravan club.

Finally, we managed 5-6 dumps of Mythe broken bricks to the north end of platform 2 – this now needs spreading out.

There is a dumper load of usable bricks that need recovering from the Mythe tip. (put to one side by us)

So much for the news. I shall to CRC on Monday, so see you Wednesday next.
Best regards,
Jo

Thanks, John, Jo and Vic!

Thanks
