Wednesday 8th June 2011

On a short reign today from her indoors so only able to join the fray for the morning, but what a morning it was! Graham Morrison with his JCB set the pace on filling in the rear of the Platform with ballast.  It took six stalwart volunteers with shovels and rakes to level it out before the next load was dumped over the wall.  Only breaks to roller each level afforded a breather. I take my hat off to them. How they found the stamina to keep going during the afternoon, I don't know, but I believe the job is virtually done. I will post some pics on Saturday. Here are couple supplied by Steve Bucknall:-

Cheers Steve!

Ron B and the construction Gang kept building the the final section of the current  wall and it is now ready for the corbelling to be added on Saturday. This will hopefully be topped off with the coping slabs a week today.

Finally our efforts to raise much needed funds with a Bric-a-Brac stall on Saturdays is gradually gather momentum. Please come and visit us when you can.
