What a Good Day!

It was a day full of success, good humour and camaraderie. A new recruit and a visit from a prospective recruit somehow added to a renewed sense of purpose. The work was varied and maybe not ground breaking although certainly back breaking on occasions!
Frost damaged water pipes were successfully replaced and hot running water returned. The damaged security light was removed for off site repair.
A friendly visit from the local police facilitated a discussion on our break-in and some useful advice given, and in particular the removal of all portable, re-saleable tools. This has now been done.

Much work was done on the up platform bank and it has now been effectively cleared along the full length of the old platform. The bonfire burned brightly, as ever! There is a desire to expose some of the old platform footings but a tractor/digger/JCB would be needed. Any suggestions/help out there?

John B has been working hard to clear the track bed drainage gully and yer 'tis as good as new!

Last but not least, it was felt that the station site lacks an identity and Peter H got landed with the job of cutting out the letters for a replica GWR Broadway sign to be erected by the main road fence. There were several hours careful jigsaw work involved here and Peter was glad, I think, that we were not restoring Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch Station! More of this in a later report!
