GWSR Blogs

Taking my weekly scan through all the GWSR  Blogs, it occurs to me that, between us, we must provide the most comprehensive  public news bulletin service of any of the Heritage Railways - indeed any heritage organisation in the country. It can be difficult to trot them out in a timely way and keep them interesting. So well done to my fellow scribes - you are doing a great job!

And  how far away are our supporters-

I agree - the blogs are amazing! Very informative and I always look forward to the Wed/Sat Broadway update - can't wait to stand on the platform one day and see a train roll into the station. Used to walk the track bed years ago and can't believe the transformation!

I've been called plenty of things in my time, but never a "scribe". Keep up the good work Bill.

exiles and other rail enthusiasts here in North America are constantly amazed by the achievements of the preservation movement in the UK.
Sad that vandals attempt to destroy progress, best deterrent is having
persons in place armed with a camera
Other blogs i reccommend;
Ecclesbourne Valley Railway and now on facebook Shillingstone Station

I read these blogs nearly every day. Wish I was there to help, (I can use a spade probably) but I am in Western Australia. Keep up the good work.

I really look forward to the blogs each Wed and Sat. Can't wait to catch a luncheon train with my family over the Cheltenham to Broadway section.

Indeed, the wealth of blogs on the railway is the envy of many railways I imagine. It's much better than facebook as it is more accessable and can still be easily updated by anyone as opposed to only one or two people who could on a website.

I check most of them most days, Some of the blogs less well read include the individual loco group ones, larning about the final stages of the restoration of Dinmore manor was interesting, very much looking forward to the complete blogging of 2874's Barry restoration, and to 2807 blog is an interesting read as well, so well done all of you who write the blogs, it must take a bit of go to come back from a hard day's volunteering and then write about the day afterwards, thanks!

The blogs are required daily reading over breakfast they draw you in and make you feel as though you are part of the team!

I'm full of admiration for the dedication you all have and a trip to Broadway the next time I come over from NZ is a must. Really looking forward to the bridges blog.

I hope someone has highlighted your post to the board and brings it up at the next meeting.

Thanks for the continuing enjoyment!

Bill,

Jenny and I visited your Broadway and the railway itself during October last year. While i quizzed you, Jenny was talking and buying in your shop. What you are doing at Broadway is truly amazing. As already noted , your railway has one of the most informative set of blogs around. That you have a large dedicated band of volunteers as well is no coincidence. 6029 our 4-8-4 + 4-8-4 Beyer-Garratt here in Canberra will be undertaking running tests in October November. Sadly, it will not get to Broadway.

Regards Max
