Cheltenham Racecourse Platform 2

Endeavouring to keep the momentum going on  the CRC Platform 2 build, 4 BAG Volunteers did their best to ignore the gloomy weather. Bob White sent me this report:-

Hi Bill

The weather was not on our side today and we could not start laying any bricks until about 11.00am.  There were four of us, Tony and I laid red bricks behind the top course of corbelling with Paul and Keith keeping us supplied with mortar.
Unfortunately it was too wet to lay  many blue bricks as they were so wet and the bricks would have been swimming and staining the existing work.  However, a start was made on the next section after lunch.  In addition,  Paul and Keith stacked the surplus bricks from behind the completed section.  Despite the weather there was a sense of achievement in getting the first section finished.

Paul took some photos and he will send them to you.

Cheers

Bob

I'm continually amazed at the dedication of GWSR volunteers. Fantastic progress at both ends of the line. Thank you all.

The regular posts detailing the work done & progress made are very informative. They keep us too far away (Abingdon in my case) to visit the station site on a regular basis up to speed with everything that's going on. MANY THANKS
