Broadway Station Planning Application

The Broadway Station Planning Application was submitted to Wychavon District Council on the 1st July 2013. The application proposes the construction of the main Station Building on Platform 1, the Waiting Room on Platform 2 and the Signal  Box on the southern end of Platform 2.

The plans will no doubt come under  the rigorous scrutiny of  the planning process. What I can say is that the  3 building designs are excellent, and when finished will  be iconic  features on the GWR that everyone on our Railway and the Broadway Community can be proud of. A thank you from the Broadway Area Group to all those involved in the design and preparation of the application.

A subsidiary application will be submitted in the near future for the car park.

All of the above sounds good. Broadway will rightfully be a showpiece after all of your groups hard work.

Will there also be an application for a footbridge?

We do not think that a footbridge will require planning permission unless advised othwise by Wychavon.

Hopefully you will not be faced by farcical conservation people who think it would be fake (rather than looking correct) unlike the problems they and English Heritate are causing for another railway

Why do they have build from scratch? Why can`t they save historic signal boxes and station buildings from other sites? It`s supposed to be about preservation isn`t it?
