On Friday 15th March, GWR
volunteer Mike Speake is bringing his friends The Rambling Boys to
Broadway for an evening of musical entertainment. Once described as
Nottingham's answer to The Spinners, The Rambling Boys have been singing and
playing together for over forty years and have developed a wide ranging
repertoire, all sung in close harmony, with great enthusiasm, and accompanied
on guitar, banjo, mandolin and string bass. Their material ranges from good old
sing-along songs like The Wild Rover and Leaving of Liverpool, to contemporary
items like Country Roads and Early Morning Rain, through songs by John Denver,
Beatles, Eagles - even some Gospel!
What is guaranteed is a night of good
music, plenty of humour, with lots of audience participation. All proceed will
go towards rebuilding Broadway Station.
Tickets will cost £7 to include tea and
coffee in the interval but please feel free to bring your own drinks. There
will be a raffle.
Tickets may be obtained by phoning Mike
on 01386 854746 or from Shopwright in Broadway.
