There were 12 of us on site today - the early rain turned into a sunny day. Numbers were down a little, but we are moving into the holiday season now. Also a few of the regular stalwarts are off the road at the moment for MOT's and servicing, courtesy of the NHS!
Nevertheless some good progress was made. There were two main tasks going on, Platform 1C and some tidying/landscaping at the bottom of the driveway.
Platform 1C got another course of corbelling blues from Clive and Roger J backed them up with reds. Clive reckons we have enough bricks of all shapes and sizes to finish 1C off.
Here is a good photo from Jo, showing the overall impression of the near completeness of the northern end of what will officially be Platform 1.
Down at the bottom of the driveway some serious tidying up was going on after removing the old spear fencing.
Here the old spear fencing panels are removed for a refurb.
Then the adjacent area was tidied up. This will facilitate some drainage going in, down the side of the drive, along the fence line.
I'm not sure it was fair to send me down the chamber for a photo opportunity....
At the top of the drive Vic was coming to end of his stone wall laying. He had barrowed several loads of Cotswold stone up from the car park area across the road.
Jo managed a couple more and then Phil showed us how it was done in quick time - oh to be young again!

What has happened to your Broadway Signal Box Webcam. It looks like I'll have to go back to gardening on Saturdays and Wednesdays rather than watch your bricklaying activities. Seriously though, keep up the good work and the reports. I am sure they have a significant effect on 'armchair' support.
