It was the BAG annual Opening Evening last night and as ever the weather teased us right up to the last minute, with showers and torrents in equal measure. However at 6:30 it all turned a bit calmer and our loyal supporters turned up in droves to look at progress, have a chat, and to partake of a burger or a dish of chili, washed down by a beer or two! Everyone was impressed with the progress since last year and gave words of encouragement to keep up the good work. There were over one hundred guests who thoroughly enjoyed themselves. Their generosity meant that we had over £1000 to add to our funds. Thank you!
And to the volunteers who did all the hard preparation work during the day, some of which were virtually on their knees by the end of the day - a double thank you.
Here are some pictures from Jo and Richard O'Keeffe - a record of a great evening.

What John is holding are the rollers for sliding (wooden) signal box windows. They are ex Honeybourne North signal box. They were donated by the RAT, who have offered to sponsor one of the windows as well. Thank you, RAT !
Spoil sport....
Being an armchair supporter shouldn't mean I sleep too much, missing important information, but I never saw any 'advert' for the event. I brought two friends with me ... and we had dinner before leaving.
Great seeing the progress first hand, the Signal Box progress is fantastic as is all the hard work put into the platforms themselves especially when it is considered all the bricks have been hand cleaned.
